The National Institute of Virology  was established in Pune in the year 1952 under the IMCR. It was set up for the effective investigation of Arthropod Borne viruses. There are different research centres in this institute and conduct research activities like Cell repository, effective Electron microscopy, Hepatitis, Influenza and related viruses, and Clinical virology among others. For effective implementation of its research activities the institute seeks candidates for the posts of Technician, Data Entry Operator and others.

The qualification and experience certificates produced should be in relevant discipline and from a reputed institute. The candidates who are already employed in regular time scale service under Government Department are not at all eligible to apply.  The mentioned consolidated Salary of the posts can vary. A separate application is required to be submitted for each post. The NIV seeks applications from candidates having the required qualification for the mentioned various posts in prescribed application form. Only Indian nationals should apply.

Essential Educational Qualification and Experience:

The candidate should be a 10+2 in Science subjects with Two years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology [DMLT] or Metric Pass.

Vacancy Notification: Data Entry Operator (3 posts)

Pay Scale: 17000

Essential Educational Qualification and Experience:

The candidate should be a 10+2 with Science and Maths and must possess A Speed test of 15000 key depressions per hour through speed test on computer.

Vacancy Notification: Research Scientist  (1 post)

Pay Scale: 64000

Essential Educational Qualification and Experience:

The candidate should be an MD with 1 year of experience

OR the candidate should be a MBBS with PG Diploma and 02 years experience

OR the candidate should be a MBBS with four years experience.

Vacancy Notification: Scientist  (Medical)(1 post)

Pay Scale: 61000

Essential Educational Qualification and Experience:

The candidate should be a MBBS with MD in PSM/MPH with Two years of experience.

Vacancy Notification: Scientist (Non- Medical)(1 post)

Pay Scale: 48000

Essential Educational Qualification and Experience:

The candidate should have a Masters Degree in Life Sciences with 2 years experience

Or the candidate should have a Masters Degree in Life Sciences with Ph.D in Life Sciences and One year experience

Age Limit:

The maximum age limit is 30/28 for Project Technician-II & III and 25 years for Data Entry Operator, 35 years for Scientist (Medical), 30/35 years for Scientist (Medical) and 50 eyars for Research Scientist
